Shankar had a meeting with superstar Rajinikanth recently. Though the reason behind the meeting of India’s most successful director and the country’s indisputable superstar remains uncertain, the meeting has sure sparked speculations that Shankar might be planning to make his third film with Rajini after making mega-hits such as Sivaji: The Boss and Enthiran: The Robot.
Rajini and Shankar last worked together for Enthiran, which was a colossal hit and is the most-successful Tamil film ever to have been made. Three years have gone by since then and Rajini hasn’t yet had a release except a brief cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra One. Though K.S. Ravikumar’s Rana was to be Rajini’s next film after Enthiran, it had to be shelved as Rajini took ill in 2011.
Rajini then started working in Kochadaiyaan, his daughter Soundarya’s debutant directorial venture, which is the first-ever Indian film to be made in 3-D animation mode and using the state-of-the-art ‘motion capture’ technology. Except a few stills of the film, nothing about Kochadaiyaan has been revealed. Rajini’s fans are awaiting with patience the film’s audio launch to be followed by its theatrical release.
Rajini and Shankar reportedly spent more than an hour talking to each other, it is said. It is further reported that Shankar might have a mega-film in mind with Rajini in the lead once he completes his Tamil-Telugu bilingual I which stars Vikram and Amy Jackson in lead roles. It is also said that it was only a friendly meeting and Rajini might have told Shankar to make it to the trailer release of Kochadaiyan.
Let’s wait for the truth to come out!
