Vijay Sethupathy is sure-shot case of a small time actor evolving into a celebrated star. Regarded as the “Savior for mid budget filmmakers”, he surely has a good support from close friends and passionate filmmakers in the industry. In fact, his call sheets need more hours in a day. He is presently juggling between Rummy, Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Pannayarum Padminiyum, Sangudevan and Vasanthakumaran. Add to it the pending list of directors he has yet talk to.
However, his success graph did not ascend at this rate overnight. Having bagged four projects in the first 5 years in K town, he signed up for minuscule appearances time and again.
It was not until 2010, in Seenu Ramaswamy’s directorial – Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, that this Vijay, bagged the role of a front man.Years later, despite his flooring successes with Pizza,Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Soodhu Kavvum he is thankful to Seenu Ramaswamy for giving him a bigger platform.
“Initially after I shifted careers as an accountant to films, I had a tough time making it in this industry. It still is a hard place to exist. Seenu always told me to have self belief first , success will soon follow. I am glad I have more fans and more movies to look forward. I am just doing my best.”
