Kamal Haasan has revealed that the advancements in modern technology vis-à-vis cinematography is being used to full effect in shooting sequences under-water in the film Vishwaroopam-2, a sequel to his super-hit Vishwaroopam which released in Feb this year.
After lying low for the past few months, Kamal Haasan has got busy with the work relating to the theatrical release of Vishwaroopam-2. The first part, which released in February, created a huge controversy with many Islamic movements protesting against certain sequences in the film. The ‘controversial’ portions were cut off when the film eventually released.
The cast of the first part has been repeated in the sequel and as such Vishwaroopam-2 has Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jermiah, Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur and Nasser essaying prominent roles. Kamal has penned the screenplay and dialogues of the film besides directing it. Kamal’s Rajkamal Films has produced the film jointly with Ravichandran of Aascar Films.
Many sequences in the film have been shot in and around Bangkok. The film’s trailer and posters, which were released at the IIFA awards function recently, met with a huge response. Speaking about his film, Kamal said he had conceived the idea of a sequel during the making of Vishwaroopam. 90% of the film’s shoot has so far been completed. We have made use of some state-of-the-art equipment in the sequel.
“Especially, we are confident that the stunt sequences which have been shot underwater would be spoken about in a big way. The sequel would be focusing more on human relations and would also be more romantic than the first part,” Kamal said.
