After lying low for the past few years, director Perarasu is back in action in Kollywood. Deviating from his usual style of naming his film after cities and towns, director Perarasu has named his next film as Tihar, the sprawling and famous prison in the country’s capital.
Perarasu, who has worked with the likes of Ajith, Vijayakanth, Vijay and Arjun, is making Tihar in a manner which promises to be very different from his earlier films. A new lead pair gets introduced in the form of Mukundan and Mumbai-based sizzling Akanksha Puri(was present in Karthi’s Alex Pandian). Tihar is produced by Godson Films with a huge budget.
Others in the cast include Riyaz Khan, M.S. Baskar, Feroze Khan, Niyamat Khan, K.C. Shankar and Karthikeyan, who plays a parallel hero. Talking about the film, the diminutive Perarasu says: “The script is about the many social problems faced by Jordan, son of super-don Alexander, who once ruled roost as the top-most criminal in the country.
“It’s a full-fledged action film for which we erected sets costing Rs.25 lakhs in Mumbai where stunt sequences involving Mukundan and Riyaz were filmed recently. The shoot has taken place in Dubai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. Tihar would be a very different film from my earlier ones,” assures Perarasu.
