Anjali does a U turn and say no to glam roles
Anjali has reportedly has done a U turn and said ‘no’ to glam-filled roles from now onwards. The actress who was always on look for glam roles for the past two years has been made to rethink her survival strategy.
There appears to be more than a single reason for her decision. Firstly, films wherein she had appeared in glamourous roles are not getting her the name she desires. Secondly, she appears to be putting on oodles of flesh around her waist and hips at an alarming rate which might not permit her to don glamorous costumes.
The actress, who has had a torrid phase in her personal life during the past 2-3 months, announced recently that she had put all her problems behind and would be concentrating in films in a full-fledged manner. She told newsmen that she had ‘patched up’ with her Aunt Bharathi Devi and has decided to manage her career and life in her own terms.
Anjali’s glam-avatars can be seen in Singam-2 wherein she has danced for an ‘item number’ and in Vishal’s Madha Gaja Raja wherein she has tried revealing herself. She is also hoping that her last night release Telugu film Balupu, which has her essaying the second heroine’s role behind Shruti Haasan opposite Ravi Teja, does well so that her Telugu market remains intact.
Now Anjali has been sending feelers to directors in Tamil industry that she is ready to do roles similar to that she essayed in films such as Angaadi Theru, Kattradhu Thamizh and Engeyum Eppodhum. If the script was good, she was even ready to reduce her fee to a great extent, she says.
