Fresh from the success of the remake version of K. Balachander’s legendary Thillu Mullu, director Badri has announced that he would soon be starting work on the remake of an yet another Balachander film. Badri has said that he would be remaking Balachander’s Manmadha Leelai which had Kamal Haasan, Halam and Jayaprada essaying lead roles and which released in 1976.
Starring Siva, Prakash Raj, Isha Talwar and a host of actors and actresses, Badri’s Thillu Mullu 2 released a fortnight back and has been declared a silent hit. The film got its utmost recognition when K. Balachander himself appreciating Badri’s work and said that the director has given a fresh look to the film.
Kamal had played a typical womaniser in the film which has a hidden message of women are passing clouds except for your wife. The film directed by K Balachander had some mesmerizing songs by the legendary M.S. Viswanathan. Badri says that, like the changes he made with the remake of Thillu Mullu, he would make apt changes in the script before starting to shoot for Manmadha Leelai 2 also.
“Thankfully, audiences have welcomed with open hands my attempt at remaking Rajini’s Thillu Mullu for today’s trend. I now want to do the same with Kamal’s Manmadha Leelai; the cast hasn’t yet been finalized and a formal announcement in this regard would be made soon,” said Badri.
