It is stated in trade circles that both Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (starring Siddharth and Hansika in lead roles) and Thillu Mullu, the films which released last friday, have been doing very well at the box-office. When two films, which are eagerly awaited by fans and movie-goers, release on the same day, one of them invariably fails to hit the bull’s eye at the box-office.
But, it’s not the case with Sundar C’s Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru(TVSK) and Badri’s Thillu Mullu. Both the films are said to be doing well, with the former edging out the latter in terms of box-office collections. As Dhanush starrer Mariyaan which was scheduled to release on June 21st has been postponed. It is said that TVSK managed to collect a whopping Rs.10 crores at the box-office in its very first week. The trend is continuing and it is predicted that it might turn out to be a super hit.
Speaking to reporters recently, Siddharth said that the film’s success has makes him feel like he’s had a full meal. Siddharth, who has been doing reasonably well in Tollywood, wasn’t able to make inroads in Kollywood. Success of TVSK has now helped him cement his place in Kollywood closely on the success of Udhayam NH4..
Sid also said he shared a great rapport with Sundar C and said that their ‘chemistry’ was great during the making of the film. “He is fun to work with and never asked us to shoot in the night…I have done more than 21 films but have never seen a cool director like Sundar. Very soon, both of us would be working together again in a new film, the details of which would be announced later,” he concluded.
