Gayathri, the heroine of last year’s successful Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, broke down during the meet-the-press event held in connection with the release of her film titled Ponmaalai Pozhudhu wherein she has been paired opposite Aadhav Kannadasan, grandson of the legendary lyricist ‘Kaviyarasu’ Kannadasan. Anupama Kumar plays a prominent role in the film which has music by Sathya.
Despite starring in films such as 18 Vayasu and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, Gayathri couldn’t control her emotions when she was describing the funny and enjoyable moment she had with the cast and crew of Ponmaalai Pozhudhu. At the press-meet held at the premises of Prasad Labs in the city, Gayathri was asked to share her view on starring in the film. Then started the trouble.
Standing before the mike, instead of speaking, Gayathri was trying her best to control herself from crying out loud. She took a few minutes to control her sobbing and started to speak only later. Queried about the break-down, Gayathri said “I haven’t starred in many films and choose my roles in films very carefully. Ponmaalai Pozhudhu is one such film which is close to my heart.
“Director Durai, producers, Aadhav and all the crew members moved in a very friendly manner with me during the shoot and showered love and affection in me. We felt truly like a family and now that the shoot has been wrapped up It feels like a school farewell, but Iam happy for the films release, still I may not be able to meet them all frequently anymore, I couldn’t control my emotions!” concluded Gayathri.
