Director-turned-actor Tarun Gopi would soon be back on big screen with Pechiyakka Marumagan. Gopi, who made films such as Simbu’s Kaalai and Vishal’s Thimiru, debuted as hero with RasuMadhuravan’s Mayandi Kudumbathar a couple of years back. Ever since, Gopi’s directorial instincts seem to have taken a backseat as he has been concentrating more in acting in films than in making them.
Gopi is paired opposite Priyanka in Pechiyakka Marumagan, which has been directed by Balakumar. Award-winning artistes such as Urvasi and Thambi Ramaiah are part of the film’s cast which is likely to hit the screens all over the State on 26th of this month. Gopi also informs that the film took a long time in releasing as the producer Mannan Films opted out of it mid-way and the film was finally completed jointly by two other producers.
Talking about the film, Gopi says “The relationship between a mother-in-law and a son-in-law is as holy as any other relationship(s). However, this particular relationship has often been depicted in a not-so-serious manner and in a vulgarish manner as well. Pechiyakka Marumagan would take a proper view on this relationship. Urvasi and I have played the mother-in-law and son-in-law respectively. “Urvasi was so impressed with me and my performance that she has actually started hunting for a girl for me to get married in real life. Such is the characterization of the lead actors in the film which is sure to make a huge impression with audiences who opt for family-oriented films,” says a confident-looking Gopi.
