Actor Jai hasn’t been spotted on big-screen for a long time now. Jai paired up opposite Anjali in the super-duper hit film Engeyum Eppodhum by debutant director Saravanan in 2011. It won critical acclaim and also was a commercially successful film. Surprisingly enough, Jai hasn’t had a release for more than one-and-a-half years now whereas Anjali has gone from strength to strength.
It’s not that Jai hasn’t had any film offer with him. The films on his hand include Arjunan Kadhali, Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, Raja Rani, Vettai Mannan and Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah. While Arjunan Kadhali might be the first among these films to hit the screens, Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah has also made Jai very excited. Thirumanam… is produced by Ascar Films which is back with a bang to make films after some hiatus.
Thirumanam…. is directed by debutant Aneesh, who had earlier worked under actor-director Nasser. Jai is paired up opposite stunning-looking teenager Nazriya Nazim, who is all of 16 years old. Nazriya is touted as one of the most promising finds in recent times. Thirumanam…. would also have another newcomer as heroine and a very popular actor in a prominent role.
Talking about Thirumanam…., Jai sounds very confident. “After the success of Engeyum Eppodhum, I have become very conscious in choosing my scripts. Thirumanam…. has a very different script and might prove to be a significant milestone in my acting career,” says Jai. Gibran has scored the film’s music while Madhan Karky, Parvathi, Thenmozhi Das, Karthik Netha and Kadhalmathi have penned the lyrics in the film.
Madhan Karky is also penning the film’s dialogues along with Aneesh.
