In an era of increasing and disturbing trend of violence of all kinds against women committed in public and in broad daylight, a film is to release bringing to light the various insecurities faced by women. Dr. R. Vijayabose has launched Ooduruval in association with Global Televisions.
The brutal sexual assault and subsequent murder of a Delhi medico last December appears to have opened up a Pandora’s Box of crimes against women as instead of a decline in crimes of such nature, the crime graph in the capital and in the rest of the country has only gone up. Debutant Chendooran has penned the film’s story, screenplay and dialogues besides directing it.
Thennavan of Kai fame plays a prominent role in Ooduruval which has the sizzling Tripura playing the female lead. Tripura, who has starred in films of various languages, considers Ooduruval (the 8th film in her career) as an important one in her career and hopes it helps her gain a firm footing in Kollywood. Fluent in Tamil, English, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi, Tripura believes she has it in her to fulfill the Tamil audiences’ expectations in the days to come.
‘Power star’ Srinivasan plays a significant role in the film which has been shot widely and extensively in Maldives, Andaman Islands, Puducherry, Chennai and Munnar. Hailing from Lanka, Sai Darshan has scored the film’s music. The debutant music director is an ethnic Tamil and has scored the music for many albums in the past. Vijay takes care of the cinematography.
Ooduruval is likely to hit the screens in a few weeks’ time from now.
