It’s not often one finds a newcomer stating that he would garner name and fame such as the irrepressible superstar Rajinikanth or Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. Uday Kiran, who debuted as hero in Kollywood with K. Balachander’s Poi some time back, has opined that he hopes to become as popular as Rajini and Kamal.
Says Uday: “I’m quite fortunate to have made my debut under the watchful eyes of the legendary K. Balachander Sir, who had brought superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Sir into films. I was somehow upset when Poi didn’t do well at the box-office. However, I’m confident that my new film, a romantic film with action-packed sequences, would do well at the box-office.
“I’m very confident that I can progress in Kollywood and reach a stature equal to that of Rajini Sir and Kamal Sir. I have supreme faith in the script of my new film. I have sweated it out to come out of the ‘chocolate boy’ image and have transformed myself to suit the action hero’s role that I have performed in the film. The hunt for the heroine is still on. The film is produced by Flying Colours with a huge budget,” he concludes.
Vinod Kumar scores the film’s music which is cinematographed by Satish. Sudhakar has reportedly assured Udhaya that he’d do his best to ensure that the film, which is as yet untitled, turns out to be a huge success at the box-office.
