After the hugely successful Engeyum Eppodhum which released in 2011 wherein he played one of the heroes and was paired opposite Anjali, Jai hasn’t been spotted much in Tamil films. He has now been signed to play the lead role by Ascar Ravichandran in a film titled as Thirumanam Ennu Nikkah.
Ravichandran, who is producing films such as Shankar’s I, Nakul’s Vallinam, Jayam Ravi-Trisha’s Boologam and Dhanush’s Mariyaan, has now launched Thirumanam Ennu Nikkah which has Nasriya Naseem playing heroine opposite Jai. Ravi, who doesn’t talk much about his films and lets the directors do it, says that the script of Thirumanam Ennu Nikhah was very different from the scripts he’d heard in the recent past.
“Some scripts make you laugh and some make you think; Thirumanam Ennu Nikkah’s script does both. I’m sure the script would get good treatment from debutant director Aneez,” says Ravi. On his part, Jai adds: “After the success of Engeyum Eppodhum, I have become cautious in choosing my scripts. Thirumanam Ennu Nikkah would be a significant film in my career which would also have another heroine, the details of which would be revealed later.”
Gibran scores the music for the film which has a host of lyric-writers in the form of Madan Karky, Parvathi, Tenmozhi Das, Kadhalmathi and Karthick Netha. Loganathan of Mollywood takes care of the film’s cinematography. Aneez, who has co-scripted the dialogues with Gorky, would also take care of story and screenplay writing besides directing the film. Aneez has worked for many years with actor-director Nasser.
