Production: Fox Star Studios
Starring: Dhileban, Anjali
Music: M Ghibran
Produced by A R Murugadoss, and directed by P Kinslin, “Vattikuchi” has ARM’s brother Dileepan playing the lead male role opposite Anjali and the cast include Sampath, Jayaprakash, jagan and Saranya Ponvannan.
The story revolves around one man who is being targeted by three different groups for affecting their lives. Shakthi is a share-auto driver living in the suburban areas beyond Tambaram. His involuntary and self-defensive actions invite the wrath of Benny(Sampath) , Jewellery Shop owner Gangariya ( jayaprakash) and Jagan & his companions. The three are on the roads to kill him and the tactful ways of Dileepan forms the rest of the story.
The screenplay is enteratining and Anjali dons the role of 9th standard pass out who is reluctant to accept the love proposal of Dileepan for the simple reason that he is just 6th standard. The scenes involving Anjali(in the role of Leena) and her friends in the Spoken English course classes and the romance sequences between Anjali and Dileepan proves to be entertaining adding comedy to the lively script.
Though the story is quite old with good winning over bad, the narration keeps the audience glued to their seats. The second half is filled with chasing and action scenes and the climax is somewhat disappointing. As a debutant hero, Dileepan seems to be promising and suits the role given to him. All the characters have lived up to the expectations.
Songs fail to impress in-spite of Gibraan’s good music.
On the whole, Vathikuchi seems to be a very good entertainer not disappointing the expectations of the audience from ARM house.
