I will make my statement after I watch Vishwaroopam says Ameer

ameer-at-Kollywood-Hangover-586x728Almost all the big shots in the film industry, including Rajnikanth, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj and Parthiban have made their statements regarding the Vishwaroopam issue.

One man’s opinion, the industry was looking forward to, was director Ameer‘s. Being the president of FEFSI, Secretary of Tamil Film Directors Association, and a follower of Islam, It was believed that his statement would be an influential one.

The director now has opened up saying that he will comment on the issue only after watching the film. To quote him, “The judges are there to take a final stand on whether the freedom of expression of an artiste is curtailed or does it affect the sensibilities of any particular community. In this juncture, without watching the film, I won’t make my comments and create any after-effects.”

KAMAL HAASAN IS A ‘MEESAI VAIKAADHA BHARATHIYAAR’

Director Bharathirajaa and actor R.Parthiban are the latest to come in support of Kamal Hassan in the Vishwaroopam release issue. Bharathirajaa wondered why many from the industry haven’t supported Kamal Hassan in this issue despite the presence of so many unions. Very few have dared to raise their voice in support of Kamal.

He was pained by the lack of unity and the self-centered attitude prevailing in the industry. He saw this ban on Vishwaroopam‘s release as a ban for all the artistes in the country and not just for Kamal.

He called Kamal Hassan a “Meesai Vaikaadha Bharathiyaar” for continuously daring to be different and for raising valid issues and concerns through his movies. He fervently appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu to support Kamal Hassan in this issue and bring him justice. He also felt proud about Kamal Hassan for being a good Tamil artist who has devoted himself to the film industry unflinchingly.

On his part, actor R. Parthiban said that people are the best judges and that they should decide on whether the film is against a community or not. Hinting that the ban on Vishwaroopam doesn’t really make sense, R. Parthiban also noted that the challenge Kamal Hassan is shouldering now, must actually be shared by the entire film fraternity.
