In kerala, Kamal Haasan’s ” Vishwaroopam” continues to run in theatres despite protests from a section of Muslim organisation(Social Democratic Party of India), Adequate protection are being given for the screening of the movie which has been cleared by the Censor Board, the sources said.
However, earlier few movie shows were disrupted in some parts of Palakkad,Ernakulam, Idukki and Thiruvanthapuram. But after CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan coming out in open supporting Vishwaroopam, the scenario has changed. Now at few location the DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) member are sitting on cine halls entrance and ensuring no unseen things take place.
More interestingly in Palakkad, when Vishwaroopam screening was disturbed, pro-CPI (M) DYFI shut down all theatres from screening films, and announced no films will be screened if Kamal Haasan’s film Vishwaroopam was withdrawn.
V Mohanan,Kerala Film Exhibitors Association president said Vishwaroopam was successfully running in all centres and the police protection has been given. “In some theatres, the shows were disrupted,” he said.
