Meghna Raj was making sincere efforts in ensuring that her debut film in Kannada turns out to be a mega-project. As it turned out, she has now been roped in to play the lead role opposite Yash in Raja Huli, the Kannada remake of last year’s Tamil super-hit film Sundarapandian which starred Sasikumar and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles.
Meghna has been seen only in Tamil and Malayalam films till now. But on landing up the offer of the Kannada remake, she says “I watched Sundarapandian and loved every moment of it. I think I’m lucky to have been chosen to play the heroine in the film’s Kannada remake version opposite Yash. I intend to make the most of it,”. Guru Deshpande would be directing the film.
Meghna, daughter of Vaidehi of the Vijayakanth-Revathy starrer Vaidehi Kathirundhaal fame, has a couple of promising projects in Tamil too. One of them is the Jayam Ravi-Amala Paul starrer Nimirndhu Nil directed by Samuthirakkani. Knowing the creative instincts of Samuthirakkani, Meghna has taken up a role which is not that of the heroine but a prominent one and believes she has a winner on her hands.
Meghna also feels she has a significant role in director Jeeva SK’s Kalla Sirippazhaga and says that once these two films hit the screens, she would be courted by many Kollywood producers and directors
