Some of the groups are literally convinced that Kamal Haasan has lost over his plans of airing his upcoming film Vishwaroopam over the DTH service. Yes, there are certain reasons behind the dropping of plans as Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association made it clear that they wouldn’t releasing the film in theatres if Kamal Haasan is planning to premiere the film over DTH prior to its release.
Apparently, the decision has been taken together that the film will hit screens on January 25th, 2013 while the DTH telecast of film will happen on 1 February with revised charges for viewing the film. In fact, the rates will be reduced and the viewers will have three different show timings to make a selection based on their comforts.
Well, one of the reasons behind going for this option is that the pirated videos of the film will be out by a day or two after the film’s theatrical release. With Kamal Haasan airing the film on DTH with an excellent top-notch visual and sound quality, the population that usually goes to black market for pirated videos might avoid and directly book this show, which will undoubtedly curb down the rate of piracy.
