It is a sudden surprise to everyone in the Tamil film industry and Tamil Nadu theatre owners. In spite of spending more money for the film’s production, the film had some financial issues to be cleared and the theatre owners didn’t open up the booking plans until two before its release.
While most of the population had its eyes constantly fixed on Karthi’s Alex Pandian and Santhanam-Power Star Starrer Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, Samar turned to be a surprise as the film is winning incredible laurels from all centres.
The film was released along with Santhanam’s Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, which is a comedy entertainer. What’s more interesting about Samar is the screenplay that is laced with lots of suspense and thrill moments. The audiences remain on edge-of-seats from beginning till end anticipating what’s going to happen next.
The film revolves around Sakthi (Vishal), son of a forest ranger (Azhagam Perumal), who stays across the forests of Western Ghats. His girlfriend Rupa (Sunaina) calls off her relationship with Sakthi and flies down to Bangkok. After three months, Sakthi receives a letter from Rupa with a flight ticket to Bangkok as she is unable to live without him. On his way to Bangkok, he meets Maya (Trisha), who helps him get through the security check points and introduces herself as an admin at Hotel Hyat in Bangkok.
Soon as Sakthi reaches Bangkok, he doesn’t find Rupa anywhere at the place that she mentioned in the letter. Having waited for three days, Sakthi decides to get back to India, but is succumbed to fate with unexpected shocking events that happen to him. He is soon attacked by a group of unknown people and is saved by another cohort, who acclaims him as one of the world’s topmost billionaire businessmen.
