Though Ramya Nambeesan hails from Kerala, she is very much fluent in Tamil. She is busy acting in Rendavathu Padam and Yah Yah. She has also three Malayalam films in her hands.
She was asked that why it was not possible for her to make it to the top like actresses Hansika and Amala Paul who had come after her, she said, “I have started becoming serious about cinema only now. I use to get two or three offers in Malayalam in a year.
I thought that was enough. I also decided not to act in any other language films expect Malayalam. When I came to Chennai, I was approached to act in the Tamil film Raman Thediya Seethai which had Cheran in the lead role. I like Cheran sir’s films very much. Autograph is my all time favourite. Cheran sir made the Malayalam film industry speak about him. That is why I like Cheran.
Raman Thediya Seethai was a good film but it did not to do well at the box office. After this I did not get any offers in Tamil. I was waiting for someone to approach me. Though I had a great passion for cinema, I did not have the idea how to work there. I missed the opening that I got in Raman Thediya Seethai. Two or three films that I had selected after this, was not good. That is why I had started from scratch. Now I am careful. I selected Pizza. I am very sincere now. I am also very careful in selecting films. I hope you will not ask me this question next time.”
