If there could be one person, who curiously has the red carpets spread out for the new technology, it’s none other than Kamal Haasan. The versatile personality is always bound to embracing the latest development, which obviously makes him the elite entity of Indian film fraternity.
Recently, the actor had made a stunning decision on premiering his upcoming film ‘Vishwaroopam’ on DTH that will be aired 8 hours before the theatrical release on January 11th, 2013. This decision was actually made in order to curb down the percentage anti-piracy, which has been putting down the growth of Tamil Cinema.
However, the theatre owner association instantly came up with a statement that Kamal Haasan hasn’t got a good business for his film, which has urged him to take up this decision. On hitting back against such baseless facts, Kamal Haasan has penned a personal letter to all the media channels.
In his letter, the actor has mentioned that he has been blamed on looting the money so as to cover up the cost of production. “If this is the situation, I wouldn’t have kept my film unreleased even 11 months after its completion of shooting. If I bring this new trend of DTH premiere, it will be a revolution not alone in Indian film industry, but the world cinema.
Certain group in the industry are drawing their conclusions that the theatre owners may incur loss due to this DTH premiere as the audiences might not prefer going to theatres. DTH isn’t available at everyone’s home across the country. It is afforded by only few people, who love to experience the cinema at a greater level.
Vishwaroopam will be aired only for a single time at a cost of Rs. 1000. The film cannot be recorded in any way and on pars, only few will prefer watching this film at a big amount. If wind is generated through electric fan, why would people go to beaches to get it? Why the hotels are completely packed when people cook at their own places. If the versatile singers had thought that singing on radios will diminish their popularity, no developments would have happened. It is not a good thing for 100 people to be afraid of only one person and keep away the revolution from happening.”
