Superstar Rajinikanth appeared in a promotional video to promote his upcoming film Sivaji (3-D) which hits the screens the world over next Wendesay on 12-12-12 on the eve of his 62nd birthday. Rajini’s fans and his well-wishers are awaiting with bated breath for this day, said to be one of the most auspicious dates as three 12’s in a day appears only once in 100 years.
Sivaji: The Boss, which starred Rajinikanth and Shriya Saran in lead roles besides Suman and Vivek, released in 2007 and became a super-duper hit an did very well not only in Tamil Nadu but in other States and abroad as well. AVM Productions, which produced the film in Shankar’s direction, has now converted the film into 3-D mode in association with Prasad Labs at a huge expenditure.
Sivaji (3-D) now hits the screens next week and is releasing just like any other new film in many halls in the city and across the State. A stunt sequence and a couple of songs from the film was screened at the Sathyam Cinemas yesterday which was attended by scribes and many others. A video featuring Rajini was also screened on the occasion.
Rajini, who didn’t attend the event, said that “I’m now out of Station and couldn’t attend this special screening. AVM, which produced Sivaji: The Boss at a huge cost, has now taken up a huge endeavour in conversion the film into 3-D mode. As many as three new films can be produced with the money AVM has spent in converting the film into 3-D mode for the benefit of my fans.
“I watched the film’s 3-D version and I can assure that it has come out in a grand manner. AVM is courteous enough to let me present this film as my ‘birthday gift’ to my fans. I remain thankful to AVM Sarvanan, MS Guhan and others who have made it possible,” Rajini’s message concluded thus.
