Vishwaroopam to face ban from Tamil Nadu Theater owners association

Even after having spent the major part of his life as a performer in the industry. It is sad that Kamal Haasan who is a well acknowledged figure in Kollywood faces financial uncertainties just before a major release.

Reportedly the discussions concerning his movie Vishwaroopam with distributors in India have been partly unsuccessful for the star actor.Kamal had demanded 100 crore from the distributors for his movie Vishwaroopam. The response from them was cold and they reasoned “The movie won’t have a family audience to back it up.It is a sensitive issue involving terrorists. It would be a difficult to guarantee such a huge amount.”

Sensing a unconvincing deal Kamal sought help from the TV networks all over India immediately . Major DTH Operators such as Tata Sky, Dish TV, Reliance and Airtel are being considered to market the movie.

Meanwhile Kamal tactfully sealed a deal with another leading producer for Rs.40 crore. However, when the news of TV networks sharing a major chunk of the profits arrived. The producer whose was unaware of the deal with the TV channels turned bitter. Looking disturbed he remarked ” If TV channels promote the movie a drastic loss will befall theater owners.”

The producer who is a bigwig in the industry is currently making a personal effort urging the Tamil Nadu Theater owners association to ban the movie in the state altogether. It will be interesting to see what Kamal has planned next. Will the movie face a ban?
