Bollywood actress Sarika, the estranged (second) wife of actor Kamal Haasan, has denied that efforts are being made in certain quarters for her re-union with Kamal. Kamal and Sarika have two daughters Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan.
Both the daughters chose to remain with their father after the separation between Kamal and Sarika. Sarika went on to settle in Mumbai and continued to star in Hind films and even won the national award for ‘best actress’ for her role in 2007 film Parzania. In a recent interview to a journal, Sarika shared her feelings with the readers on matters close to her heart.
“My life has been going on pretty smoothly. The most important fact is that I’m leading a honourable life with my prestige in tact. I discuss films with Shruti and Akshara and found that Shruti loves music while Akshaya loves dancing. Both of them are well-trained in their areas of interest. Each of them have their own space in films and shouldn’t be compared to their parents.
“I have decided to stay away from my daughters till they reach a certain status in their chosen fields. Whenever they want me, I’d always be there for them. I don’t discuss about them quite often with the press. I don’t even question them about their personal life and rumours of their love affairs. Question of re-uniting with Kamal for the sake of my daughters is ruled out.
“There are two ways of leading our lives. One is to take in our stride whatever comes our way; the other is to enjoy our life on a daily basis and always feel fresh. I belong to the second category,” concludes Sarika.
