Noted film producer K. Rajan has ridiculed the stance taken by producer-director S.A. Chandrasekhar, president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), who had assured many ‘good things’ to small-budget film producers. Rajan said that he had the ‘rope’ that SAC can used to hang but only couldn’t find SAC.
Hailing from the opposite camp, Rajan’s team has been criticizing harshly the team headed by SAC and its functioning. Kalaipuli Thanu, producer of the recently released Vijay-starrer Thuppakki, is also at the receiving end from Rajan’s camp which is headed by Keyaar. Journos are ‘caught’ in between both the camps as they are first called by SAC’s camp and soon after, they would have to report to Rajan’s camp.
Speaking to journos a couple of days back, SAC, actor Vijay’s father, had accused the ‘opposite camp’ of distracting him from discharging his duties. “Ever since we took over, they have been troubling us with various complaints and filing of cases…this dosen’t allow us to work and do our duties…we haven’t committed any electoral ‘fraud’ like them to win the elections. It was held in a democratic manner and we won in a fair manner,” he said.
Within a few minutes, Rajan’s camp ‘gheraoed’ the scribes and took them to their place. Rajan reportedly said, “SAC had given plenty of promises prior to taking over as the president of TFPC and had also said that he’d hang on a rope and kill himself if he didn’t fulfill these promises. Now that we have seen a considerable period of his tenure and are certain he hasn’t done anything worthwhile, I’m looking for SAC to hand over this ‘rope’ to him to help him ‘fulfill’ his promise!”
We have sure not heard the last on the issue!
