All of a sudden, there is a buzz around the theatrical release of the film titled Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (NKPK). The film, which stars Vijay Sethupathi (of Pizza and Sundarapandian fame) in the lead role opposite Gayathri, has been attracting movie-goers’ attention in the print media for the past few days with its advertisements and the novel title.
NKPK was to release during the summer holidays this year but its release had been withheld by the producers due to the ‘positive criticism’ of the film made by the press. In May, the film was to release in 35 cinema halls only as the makers were desperate to release the film as finding theatres to release the film was become increasingly difficult.
Now that Vijay Sethupathi has become a known face thanks to two of his films releasing back-to-back, there is some expectation among the audiences as to what Vijay has in store for them. Satish Kumar of JSK Films, who heard ‘good things’ about the film, has now taken up the release and distribution of the film and is releasing the film in a grand manner in 155 hall throughout the State.
Director Dharanidharan, a happy-looking man, says that “I remain extremely thankful to the Almighty and to the press fraternity. The pressmen criticized the film in a fair manner which has given the film not only some publicity but has also enabled it to be sold at a good price to the distributor. We were satisfied with 35 halls in May but now we have got 155 halls to release the film.
“We have cut as many as 25-minute long portions to make the film look trim and interesting. We hope the film hits the bull’s eye at the box-office,” he concludes on a confident note.
