Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans all over the world have an extra reason to celebrate their matinee idol’s 62nd birthday this year. Rajini’s birthday, which falls on 12-12-12 next month, is considered very special by his fans as the ‘three 12’s’ appear only once in a century. The announcement that the 3-D version of Rajini’s Sivaji: The Boss would be released worldwide on the said day has come as a surprise to the fans and movie-goers.
Produced by AVM Productions at a huge cost and directed by Shankar, Sivaji has been converted into 3-D mode at a considerable expense. Rajini, who watched the film’s converted 3-D version some time in the past, openly lauded it and said that he was looking forward to the film’s release with great interest. EFX, which took on the onerous responsibility of the 3-D conversion, has completed its work and the film would be hitting the screens on 12-12-12.
“The film has come out really big, even better than the original version. I’m happy to announce that AVM Productions would be releasing the film on my birthday next month as my ‘birthday gift’ to my millions of fans the world over. I pray to the Almighty to make the film a resounding success,” Rajini said recently. What else his fans would expect?
Starring Rajini, Shriya Saran, Suman, Vivek, Raghuvaran, Manivannan, Vadivukkarasi and Nayanthara (in a ‘guest’ appearance), the film has music by A.R. Rahman and dialogues by the late Sujatha. Thotta Dharani is the art director while Anthony is the editor of the film. Vaali, Paa Vijay, Naa Muthukumar and Vairamuthu have penned the lyrics while Peter Hayne is the stunt choreographer.
