If you had been scratching your head as to what’s the reason for the delay in theatrical release of ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film Viswaroopam, here’s it: Kamal is planning to release the film in as many as 3000 cinema halls the world over.
Starring Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jermaiah as heroines, Viswaroopam impressed Kamal’s fans and movie-goers alike when its first look was revealed in Singapore more than a couple of months back. The trailer/teaser released later in Chennai has only upped the expectations of the star’s fans. The film is scheduled release simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and on the same day all over the world.
Made using the latest Auro 3-D soung technology, the work of ‘upgrading’ the cinema halls where the film is to be released (to adjust to this technology) is going on at present. Work is going on in full swing in halls in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. “Usually, the sound systems in place emit sounds from the side-walls whereas in this new technology, sounds would be emitted from up above our heads in the halls.
“I’ve experienced such sound systems only in halls in U.S.; however, it makes me feel proud in realizing that from now onwards, it’d be available in Tamil Nadu too. Only when the viewers are inside the halls would they feel the system’s unique specialties. We have been delayed as we’re planning to release the film simultaneously in all the versions and on the same day,” Kamal clarifies.
It’s significant to recall here that it was during the making of the film in U.S. that Kamal got to interact with Hollywood film-maker Barry Osborne who was mighty impressed with Kamal’s film-making instincts and has now offered to make a Hollywood film with Kamal playing the lead and directing it!
