The controversial sequences in Thuppakki will be deleted: A R Murugadoss

Thuppakki is a film directed by A R Murugadoss which was released on Deepavali day. This film has Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles.

Some of the Muslim organizations have been protesting that some of the sequences in this film are adverse to their religion.

They were insisting that these scenes should be deleted. These organizations protested in the front of Vijay’s house and also mentioned that they will be protesting in the front of the theatres that were screening Thuppakki.
Because of this heavy police security was provided at Vijay’s house and in the theatres that screened Thuppakki. Yesterday director A R Murugadoss, producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu, actor Vijay and S A Chandrasekaran met the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary.

At this juncture, producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu, director A R Murugadoss and S A Chandrasekaran on behalf of Vijay mentioned that they will be deleting the controversial sequences which has hurt the feelings of the Islamic community.

They mentioned, “The film Thuppakki was not made with the intention of hurting any one’s feelings. We deeply regret if this film has hurt anybody’s feelings. Kindly accept our wholehearted apologies.

We had listened to our Islamic brothers. These sequences have featured in this film because we did not have knowledge about this. We did not purposely keep these sequences. We are now deeply distressed. We will delete the controversial sequences.”
