Actor Suriya did some candid talking during the course of an interview he gave to a private television channel recently. The programme was aired in the morning a few days back and revealed many sides about the man who many believe has it ‘in him’ to take on any kind of role(s) and do full justice to it.
“I was earlier like the character of Vimalan I essayed in Maatraan…so shy and one who doesn’t go out and make friends….later, however, I changed myself,” said Suriya. “I was very raw during my initial years…as the years rolled on, I learnt the nuances of acting. Even leading stars used to call me to appreciate my performances in films in recent years. They also offer me some much-needed tips on acting which inspire me.
“My entire family including my daughter was present on the sets when the Naane Indiran song was shot for Hari’s Singam. It kind of embarrassed me to dance in front of my daughter…however, after some time, I pulled myself up and went ahead with the shoot…I’m still shy like Vimalan in Maatraan but ant half as intelligent as the character is shown to be…I also loved playing Akilan in the movie,” Suriya confessed.
To queries on his family and family members, Suriya said though he is a celebrity, he too had his personal life to look after and said he’d choose not
to answer those questions.
