Post National Awards announcement complements have been pouring on Tamil film personalities who have been rewarded with some kind of award. National Award gives Aaranya Kaandam a new lease of life
Though the film has got critical acclaim and an award, the movie did not do well in the box office when it was released. Though media praised the effort of the director and his team, people did not support the venture and hence it sank without any trace.
The award has rekindled the interest of the movie and the producer SPB Charan wants to make use of it. It is learnt from reliable sources that ‘Aaranya Kaandam’ will have a re-release in the US this weekend (23 March). Also the film will be dubbed and released in Telugu shortly.
It is worth mentioning here that the movie won the Grand Jury award in the South Asian International Film Festival, NY even before it was released in theaters in Tamil Nadu.
