Actor Suriya’s upcoming film Maatraan would be released with the title Duplicate in the Telugu market. Suriya’s films have always done well in the Telugu land and in the past 5-6 years, all his films have been dubbed into Telugu and have always been patronized in a big way by the people.
Suriya’s Maatraan to be released as Duplicate in Telugu
The film, which is Suriya’s next after the colossal hit 7am Arivu, is being directed by K.V. Anand and has the bubbly Kajal Aggarwal paired up opposite Suriya for the first time. Produced by Kalpathi Agoram’s AGS Entertainment, Maatraan has Suriya playing five different roles. Harris Jayaraj would be scoring the film’s music.
In keeping with his reputation of holding his film’s shooting in countries which are rarely courted by Kollywood producers, Anand has held the film’s shooting in the Balcan countries of Russia, Serbia and Croatia besides in Macedonia and Albania. Viewers are, therefore, assured of a visual treat as they’d get to watch countries that most of us would only have seen in maps.
Though Duplicate is the dubbed version of Maatraan in Telugu, the makers are doing everything at their behest to make the film appear like a ‘direct’ Telugu film. The film is likely to be released either in mid-May or early June.
