Superstar Rajinikanth has been participating in many events in the past few months, signaling to his fans and others that he’s back in shape and is once again ready to rule the roost in Kollywood. Rajini fell ill last year and had to be air-lifted to Signapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital where he stayed for more than a month before returning to a hero’s welcome to Chennai in the second week of July.
Rajini’s fans had been waiting to watch their matinee idol back in action. It is expected that Rajini might start shooting for his upcoming animation film Kochadaiyan (directed by his younger daughter Soundarya) from 15th February onwards. The actor is also said to be penning his auto-biography whenever he finds himself free.
At the function to facilitate author S. Ramakrishnan for winning a Canadian honour, Rajini spoke in an entertaining manner and his speech was loved by many. “I spoke to Ramakrishnan some time back; every time I’d call him, he’d say he was in Russia or Rameswaram. A week ago, he said he was in Chennai. I used to travel with him in a car discussing about matters of interest ranging from politics to cinema to art.
“I congratulated him on winning the award and am here at his invitation. I have been penning whatever has come to my mind about my life. When Ramakrishnan is free to sit with me, it might be brought in the form of a book,” said Rajini and added that Ramakrishnan should write more and more for the welfare of the Tamils not only within the State but elsewhere.
