The wait is finally over. For the fans of actress Nayantara and choreographer-actor-director Prabhudeva who were waiting to hear the date of the marriage between the two, there’s some heart-breaking news on offer: both Nayantara and Prabhudeva have ‘officially’ called off their sometimes ‘steamy’ and most times ‘stormy’ relationship which lasted for the past three-and-a-half years.
Curtains drawn on Nayan & Prabhudeva’s stormy relationship
The ‘split’ comes at a worst time for Prabhudeva, whose last two directorial ventures in Tamil have failed to click at the box-office. Personally, he stands as a crest-fallen man now with a divorce decree hanging around his neck separating him from the family of his first wife Ramalat. Last year, Prabhudeva reportedly sutured together an ‘understanding’ with Ramalat at a cost of a few crores of rupees to make her agree to the divorce.
In order to marry Prabhudeva, Nayan even underwent a formal conversion from Christianity to Hinduism, raising a controversy with some Christian groups calling for her ‘boycott’. Born as Diama Miriam Curian, she got the name Nayantara when she debuted in Tamil films through Sarath Kumar’s Ayya. After embracing Hinduism, she decided that she would henceforth be known only as Nayantara and not as Diana.
The affair between the bearded Prabhu and the slim Nayan has reached a dead end with the actress deciding to call off their relationship. It is reported that a few weeks back, both of them met each other and peacefully agreed to part ways and pursue their own respective careers. Three days ago, it was reported in the press that Nayan has signed up a new Telugu film opposite Nagarjuna, coming out of her ‘retirement from films’ which she announced last year in order to marry Prabhudeva!
Nayan, who had earlier split with Simbu many years back, is said to be willing to concentrate hard on her career to wrest back the unofficial ‘No.1’ tag that she had been holding in Tamil films.
We can only wish her good luck while offering our regrets to Prabhudeva!
