Rajinikanth,Vairamuthu at AR Rahman’s Chennai Concert
The curtains finally came down yesterday night, for AR Rahman’s nationwide tour with the German Babelsberg Orchestra. In a unique collaboration, the Oscar-winning composer showcased his music through the concert titled ‘Classic Incantations’, being a tribute to the genius composer. Rahman kick started the concert from Mumbai, performing in Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and concluding in Chennai.
The Chennai concert had a special guest in none other than Thalaivar Rajinikanth, who walked in with daughter Soundarya Ashwin to the surprise of many. Soundarya had earlier made a trip to Mumbai, and expressed her joy, recording the first track for Rajini’s upcoming movie Kochadiyaan alongside 130+ musicians from the German orchestra. The crowd who were keeping the hoots and claps in reserve, burst out loud on catching a glimpse of their Superstar, after a very long time. Lyricist Vairamuthu also enjoyed the show with Rajini. The silence gave in, as the sounds of bassoons and sweet clarinets tied together to those delicate violin strings, reverberated pure magic. The orchestra instrumented some wonderful pieces from Rahman’s movie scores including Roja, Endhiran, Swades, Meenakshi and a lot more.
