UTV’s Muran has made a silent entry into the mainstream. The film is replete with debutants with little face value. The director Rajan Madhav’s merits are that of assisting Mysskin. He had narrated the scripts to about 50 producers who were impressed with the script.
Though the script was impressive, the producers were not impressed with the casting choice – Cheran and Prasanna. Director Rajjan Madhav did not give up. He considered only Cheran and Prasanna suitable for the title roles.
Part of the film happens on a highway. The film is said to be inspired from Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Strangers on a Train” released in the year 1951. Cheran had produced the film up the half way mark when UTV chipped in with its finances and its marketing strategies.
