1. Engeyum Eppothum
For the first time ace director A R Murugadoss is venturing into production and ‘Engeyum Eppothum’ is produced by him in association with Hollywood’s Fox Star Studios, who is also setting their foot for the first time in Tamil film industry. The film is a romantic drama and tells the story of two young couples – one based in Chennai and the other in Tiruchy, who meet at one point in life in an incident that changes their lives upside down.
‘Engeyum Eppothum’ features Jai, Anjali, Sharvanand and Ananya in the lead roles and directed by debut director, and student of Murugadoss, M Saravanan. Debutant Sathya scores the music and the tracks are already topping the charts with lyrics written by Na. Muthukumar and director M. Saravanan. Velraj has handled the camera and Anthony has done the cut.
Industry’s trade circles have high hopes on this film as it has already created a big hype because of Murugadoss’ involvement and song hits.
2. Vandhan Vendraan
After his big success of K V Anand directed ‘Ko’, Jiiva released ‘Rowthiram’ but, ‘Rowthiram’ did not do the ‘Ko’ magic at box-office. The actor is now hoping the repeat of his ‘Ko’ success with his next big outing ‘Vandhan Vendraan’. Jiiva, Taapsee Pannu, Santhanam, Rahman and Rachana Maurya have done the lead roles.
The movie is produced by K. S. Sreenivasan under the banner Vasan Visual Ventures and is directed by R. Kannan, who delivered the hits ‘Kandaen Kadhalai’ with Bharath and Tamannaah and ‘Jayamkondan’ with Vinay and Bhavna. R. Kannan and Pattukottai Prabhakar have jointly written the story of this romantic-action drama. It is allegedly reported that the storyline is based on the Hindi film ‘I Hate Luv Stories’ and Hollywood hit ‘Going the Distance’ but the director denies it.
Thaman has scored the music and film has 6 tracks in the music album. Songs ‘Anjana…’ and ‘Kanchana Mala…’ are a craze among the youngsters. Lyrics are by Na. Muthukumar, Thamarai, Yugabharathi, Madhan Karky and Santosh. Camera is handled by P. G. Muthiah and editing is by V T Vijayan.
3. Vengaiyin Vettai – Raging Phoenix
This is a Thai film that tells the story of an ambitious girl who learns martial arts to defeat her enemies with the help of three good friends. The film has been made by the makers of famous Thai films like Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong!
The film is being released today by Vadivudai Amman films as a dubbed version in Tamil.
