Bollywood’s most handsome baddie Sonu Sood is all excited about teaming up with Superstar Rajinikanth in Rana. Sonu Sood will play the main villain in Rajni’s Rana, to be directed by K.S. Ravikumar.
Said to be a period-action film based on the lines of the famous Hollywood blockbuster 300, and hyped as the most expensive Indian film ever made, Rana is being co-produced by Eros International and Ocher Studios, the production house run by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya. Deepika Padukone is the leading lady, and the film’s music will be contributed by A.R. Rahman. Ratnavelu of Enthiran fame will return as cinematographer for this trilingual film.
So how did Sonu grabbed this opportunity? “I’m a big fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. About two months ago, he was in Mumbai and called me for a meeting. He told me that I was to play the main villain in Rana. At that time, he hugged me and I immediately said: ‘Done sir’ without even listening to the story. Later, K.S. Ravikumar gave me a brief outline of my role, but I would have signed it anyway,” Sonu was quoted as saying.
Sonu Sood is currently busy with two Hindi films, three Telugu films and a Tamil film. But he assures that his priority will be Rana. “To play the main villain in a Rajni sir film is a dream for any actor in India,” he added.
