Director Vishnuvardhan is all set to begin the prequel of his 2007 super hit film Billa with Ajith in April. Meanwhile, the director is currently in Mumbai looking for a suitable heroine. “For my Billa 2, I need a glamorous-looking heroine to play the mobster’s first love. It looks like it will be a heroine from Mumbai, though nothing has been firmed up yet,” the director was quoted as saying.
The prequel, titled Billa 2, is produced under the banner of Wide Angle Creations (led by George Pius and Suresh Balaje, son of producer-actor K. Balaje, who produced the original Billa with Rajinikanth in 1980) and presented by Mumbai based Sunir Kheterpal, CEO of IN Entertainment (India) Limited, part of the Hinduja Group.
According to Suresh Balaje, Billa 2 will have the entire team which was behind Billa (2007): director Vishnuvardhan, cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is expected to grace theatres in early 2012.
