Noted Kannada producer Shankare Gowda alleged that he lost about Rs. 10 lakh because of popular actress Ramya’s unprofessional behaviour during the shoot of his ongoing Kannada flick Just Maath Maathnalli, being directed by actor Sudeep.
Ramya (known as Divya Spandana in Tamil and Telugu) earlier had a tiff with technicians and dancers of Sandalwood while shooting a song for Just Maath Maathnalli, resulting in rescheduling of the song. Shankare Gowda said that the rescheduling of songs and hiring a caravan had resulted in this loss.
The trouble began when the technicians and dancers refused to work with the actress, alleging that Ramya used abusive language while speaking to them during shoots of recent movies. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had to intervene to resolve the issue between the actress and the Karnataka Dancers’ Association. Ramya later issued a statement to the media apologizing to the Association, Sudeep and Shankar Gowda.
“I would have borne the losses if Ramya had completed the shooting of her portions in the film. But she walked out of the shooting without completing her scenes. We still have to take a few close up shots of her. We need Ramya for a day’s shooting for canning the pending shots,” Gowda added, claiming that he paid Rs. 10 lakh to Ramya as her fees.
