Kollywood is full of improvization which enables it to make the best movies with the limited technology available here. But improvization in movie launches?! Have you ever heard of it?! The following is an example, and also for the professionalism and time management skills of Kollywood artistes.
Recently, a movie was launched by Sasi Kumar (who directed Subramaniapuram) through cell phone! Yes!
After the massive success of Subramaniapuram (also referred to as Subramaniyapuram), he is producing a yet-to-be-named film directed by Pandiarajan. It witnessed a first-of-its-kind movie launch! Usually a movie is launched by a “pooja” and then by the commands “Start” and “Action” from the visiting chief guest or the producer. But at this movie launch, producer Sasikumar was at Rajapalayam and he called in from there to say “Start” and “Action” signaling the launch of his movie. The crew in Pudukkottai, who heard the command through director Pandiarajan’s cell phone on speaker mode, obeyed it and cranked the camera!
Sasikumar was forced to take this decision as he is participating in director Samudrakani’s Nadodigal and did not want to disturb the rhythm and pace of the filming! Speaking on this, Sasikumar said, “Even I am surprised with this kind of movie launch. All I wanted was to avoid disrupting the rhythm of Samudrakani’s film Nadodigal. It is going on very well. If I leave at this stage, the tempo will be lost and I wanted to avoid that any cost. And that is why I was forced to take this decision.”
Sasikumar, we profoundly appreciate your professional ethics, compassion and your dedication. Well, your movie has started a trend already and we wish it gives rise to many such trends – all first-of-their-kind!
