Everyone knows Venkat Prabhu as a famous Kollywood director. But he entered this industry as an actor. He was supposed to debut in the lead role of Poonjolai, which was never released, even after getting completed and having its audio released.
Directed by his father Gangai Amaran, its music was composed by his uncle Ilayaraja. The film’s audio became quite famous within a few days of its release.
Now, there is a slight glimmer of hope seen with its filmmakers discussing its release. It is heard that its think-tank are weighing the options of releasing it as they consider Venkat’s newfound fame would give it leverage. If their discussions bear fruit, soon we might see Venkat Prabhu on the silver screen as a hero. Sangeetha, known as Rasi now, is the female lead in this film.
But Venkat’s opinion on this is not known yet. Whatever the think-tank opines, the final decision to release this 1997 film will be taken by Venkat Prabhu.
