Screening Tamil Films resumes in Karnataka

Screening of Tamil films has been resumed in Karnataka after a gap of three weeks of blockade in the wake of Hogenakkal Drinking Water Project between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. There are more than 30 plus theaters in Bangalore City, which screen Tamil films in view of the large Tamil population in the city.

Even a Kannada fan is also interested in watching a Tamil movie. Most of the Kannada films are a mere copy of popular Tamil films. For every new release, there is an amazing response among the viewers and Bangalore became a big center for Tamil film business for decades.

The resumption of screening has been on a low key without any advertisements in newspapers or on TV channels. There are no huge posters at the theatres either, apparently not to arouse protests again by pro-Kannada activists.

Meanwhile, the Kannada Film Industry requested the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce to revoke the suspension on them and ensured for a smooth running of Tamil Films in Karnataka.
